Partial Burn Ban in Effect

A partial fire ban has been issued for the Township of Montague, effective August 5, 2025 at 4:00pm. Brush fires or controlled burning are strictly prohibited. Fines will be levied for unauthorized burning.

The department still allows for campfires, stone pits and certified outdoor fireplaces. Those burning are encouraged to have plenty of water on hand at all time to control fires, and to make sure fires are properly doused. Use of fireworks is also allowed if proper safety precautions are followed.
