The building and planning department is responsible for dealing with all applications under the Planning Act and the Ontario Building Code. The Department is also responsible for ensuring compliance with Official Plans, Zoning By-laws, other municipal by-laws and the Ontario Building Code.

In addition to the CBO, the Committee of Adjustment looks after minor variances and changes of use in the Township.
